Our Company’s Story

Founded in 2003 by Mike Sudik, our company was built on experience, integrity, and a commitment to dependable energy solutions for Montana homes and businesses. Mike began working with solar energy in Montana in 1998 and became NABCEP Solar Certified in 2008. As a Montana licensed electrician and Northwestern Energy approved solar installer, he helped build the company on a foundation of quality craftsmanship and trusted local service.

In 2024, Mike passed away after a battle with cancer, leaving the company to his longtime employee and trusted friend, Steven Fisher, who worked alongside him for 13 years. Today, Steven proudly carries on Mike’s legacy with the same dedication to hard work, reliable service, and treating customers like neighbors.

Meet Our Team

STEVEN FISHER- OWNER & LICENSED ELECTRICIAN

Steven Fisher, a native Montanan, has been with Big Sky Solar and Electric since 2013. Mentored by founder Mike Sudik, Steven was entrusted to carry on the company when Mike passed away. Today, Steven proudly carries on that legacy, serving Missoula with the same dedication, reliability, and care that Big Sky Solar and Electric has always been known for.

    LICENSED ELECTRICIAN APPRENTICE

    Lucas has been with Big Sky Solar and Electric since 2022 and is currently in the final year of his electrician apprenticeship. He brings a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.

    LICENSED ELECTRICIAN

    Skyler has been with Big Sky Solar and Electric since 2016 and was mentored by founder Mike Sudik. As our lead electrician, Skyler runs our crew with skill, dedication, and a strong commitment to quality workmanship.

    LICENSED ELECTRICIAN APPRENTICE

    Mehkail has been with Big Sky Solar and Electric since 2021 and is currently in the final year of his electrician apprenticeship. He is personable, hardworking, and passionate about mastering the trade.
